Tree Service In New Hampshire

New Hampshire Tree Service

Established in 1984, Royal Green Tree Service is a leader among tree service companies in New Hampshire and Massachusetts. From our home base in Kensington, NH we operate year round providing a full suite of tree care and tree removal services throughout Rockingham County, New Hampshire and both Middlesex County and Essex County in Massachusetts.

With certified arborists on staff we offer solid advice and recommendations to residential, commercial, and municipal property owners. We train and maintain a crew of professional climbers, equipment operators, and arborists who utilize cutting edge tools and techniques to safely and efficiently address tree care and tree removal situations.

Think of Royal Green Tree Service as a medic for your trees. A diagnosis reveals causes for declining tree health and remedies are prescribed. Those might include: minor surgery such as pruning or cabling, soil aeration to alleviate compaction, or measures to address nutrient deficiencies and whether the tree is receiving too much or too little water. For trees that pose risk to people, property, or other trees the prescription, as a last resort, would be tree removal.

Tree removal, if necessary, requires special skills and equipment as well as sufficient insurance. Royal Green specializes in tree removal with the capability to remove trees of any size. We are fully licensed and insured.

Tree Health Awareness

New Hampshire has had several years of abnormally dry conditions leading up to a drought in 2016. While the drought has been declared officially over many urban and rural trees have been weakened and are in recovery mode. It’s essential that, post drought, trees are given proper care and attention.

From a safety standpoint, trees that need immediate attention are those that are dead, dying, or a hazard to people or property. Some trees may be a cause for concern because they exhibit signs of ill health such as yellowing leaves or falling branches and if not attended to will soon become hazardous. Then there are trees that may be falling victim to disease or insects. Those trees are a risk because not only will they too become a hazard but they have the potential to harm other nearby trees and even trees far away.

Invasive Tree Pests

Insects such as the Emerald Ash Borer and the Asian Longhorned Beetle have been found in logs and firewood years after the trees were cut or the firewood was split. These insects pose a significant danger to the tree population.

A similar situation exists with Hemlock Woolly Adelgids which were first reported in Portsmouth in 2000 and have since infested Hemlocks across Southern New Hampshire including every city and town in Rockingham County.

Asian Longhorned Beetles have not as yet been discovered in New Hampshire although a large infestation was present in Worcester, MA in 2008 and in Boston in 2010.

In 2011 the state of New Hampshire implemented a quarantine on out of state firewood. The firewood quarantine may have been, at least partially, responsible for keeping the Asian Longhorned Beetle out of New Hampshire.

The State recently imposed a stricter quarantine in Rockingham, Belknap, Hillsborough, and Merrimack Counties due to the apparent spread of Emerald Ash Borer infestations in those areas. In Rockingham County–Salem, Windham, Atkinson, Deerfield, Candia, and Northwood are considered to be generally infested areas. Adjacent towns, and towns within 10 miles are within a potential expansion area while the rest of the county is under alert.

New Hampshire residents can help stop the spread of invasive species by exercising caution in the movement of firewood and by reporting sightings of suspected insects. To do so use this form from the organization NH Bugs.
